Effective And Confidential Representation In
The Area Of Drug User in Possession of a Firearm

Drug User Weapon Possession

Everyone has seen the media coverage about school shootings and other violent gun crimes. As a result, Illinois prosecutors take charges involving unlawful use or possession of firearms by drug users very seriously. Most of these crimes are charged as felonies and are rarely reduced to misdemeanors. In some instances, a defendant who uses drugs may face felony charges for simply having bullets.

Many weapons cases arise from illegal searches. Therefore, if you are charged with the unlawful use or possession of a weapon, it is critical that you immediately contact an attorney. I can examine the facts of your case to determine whether the search was valid or maybe there is a question about the officer’s probable cause to investigate you. In some cases, I have brought a motion to quash the search, which resulted in the entire case being thrown out.
Felon Weapon Possession
As is the case with other Illinois felonies, convictions for unlawful use of a weapon may not be expunged or even sealed.
